Due East is a Moroccan rug company run by Mollie Brown. She sources vintage rugs on regular trips to Morocco, works with local artisans to create new rugs woven in the traditional style, and helps clients design custom rugs that are made to order.

We designed Due East’s logomark after many hours of research. The symbol itself is inspired by woven designs found in traditional Moroccan rugs. The mark plays with directional movement—it literally moves to the east—to provide a bit of extra dimension.
In order to visually balance the artistry in the rugs themselves, we designed Mollie’s stationery suite to be simple and straightforward with the use of modern typography. This breathes a bit of contemporary energy into the brand, showcasing the ways the old meets the new (and how the old thrives with the new).
